Grant Thornton’s tax specialists complement our clients’ accounting teams while maintaining their auditors’ independence with our compliance services and customized tax planning advice. We have capabilities to advise our clients on various tax strategies including federal tax services, state and local tax services, international tax services, industry tax services, family wealth planning, and compensation and benefit plan design as well as consulting on other complex tax matters.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate or Senior Associate Consultant will support both internal and external consulting and compliance engagements under direction of engagement manager. He or she will maintain applications, create new applications, design and build reports and data extraction tools with the use of a strong understanding of programming languages, data models and databases, and user interface and web development tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Maintenance of internal GT .NET applications

o Working under direction of Project Manager on custom software development

o Working under direction of Project Manager on third-party indirect tax software implementations (Vertex, Thomson Reuters, ADP, Billsoft)

o Working on system integrations with major ERP and billing systems such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc.

o Requirements analysis and design for indirect tax software implementations

o Programming for custom system interfaces and modification of existing standard interfaces

o Testing and support of system go-live’s

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· 0-2 years of business experience

· Technical degree in Information Systems / Computer Science. Or, a business degree with experience or knowledge in information systems

· Experience in some or many of the following areas:

o Visual Studio .NET – C#/VB.NET – A Must!

o Programming in Java/C/C#/C++/Visual Basic

o Web-development

o Database development: SQL Server, Oracle, Db2, Access

o Understanding of software development lifecycle

o Proficient in Excel, Word, and other Office Products

o Custom report development for various database platforms
