The Senior Web Developer within Grant Thornton International (GTI) Information Technology (IT) team is responsible for developing and supporting internal web based applications.

This person is responsible for assigned internet/intranet programming work, occasional project management responsibilities, assigned user and management communications, briefing presentations and supervision of associate rank developers/contractors as identified by the GTI Technology Manager.

This position requires a highly motivated self-starter, with experience communicating issues on both social and technical levels to clients, who are members of the Grant Thornton International community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

-Develop new web-based applications as identified

-Customize packaged web applications to meet business needs

-Maintain production and development web programming environments in conjunction with Grant Thornton engineering GT engineering and database administration teams

-Test and perform complete quality assurance evaluation on all GTIbased intranet and internet applications (custom and purchased)

-Complete life cycle development documentation for all projects

-Work with development teams (on/off shore) to ensure successful delivery of solutions

-Assure adherence to development standards and ensure standards are met by other development team members

-Provide programming team technical and functional team leadership and technical direction

-Perform project oversight/communications as needed for any applications delivery project

-Perform any additional duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field

-6 to 10 years of experience in a medium-to-large sized corporate environment with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity of projects and applications.

-Experience with WCF (Windows Communication Foundation)

-Experience with developing software for SharePoint 2010/2007

-Experience creating ASP .Net applications using C#

-Understanding of SOA architecture

-Understanding of AJAX and Web 2.0 technologies

-Strong HTML skills and understand the DOM object model

-Understanding of systems development methodology best practices

-Proven understanding of design patterns

-Previous experience on the professional services/accounting industry a plus

-Excellent written and oral communications skills
