Grant Thornton’s tax specialists complement our clients’ accounting teams while maintaining their auditors’ independence with our compliance services and customized tax planning advice. We have capabilities to advise our clients on various tax strategies including federal tax services, state and local tax services, international tax services, industry tax services, family wealth planning, and compensation and benefit plan design as well as consulting on other complex tax matters.
JOB DESCRIPTION
· 0-2 years of business experience
· Technical degree in Information Systems / Computer Science. Or, a business degree with experience or knowledge in information systems
· Experience required:
o Visual Studio .NET – C#/VB.NET
o Relational database concepts
· Experience in some or many of the following areas helpful:
o Programming in Java/C/C#/C++/Visual Basic
o Web-development, XML
o Database development: SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Access
o Understanding of software development lifecycle
o Proficient in Excel, Word, and other Office Products
· Responsibilities will include
o Maintenance of internal Grant Thornton .NET applications
o Working under direction of Project Manager on third-party indirect tax (sales taxes) software implementations (Vertex, Thomson Reuters, ADP, Billsoft) and custom software development
o Working on indirect tax system integrations with major ERP and billing systems such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc.
o Requirements analysis and design for indirect tax software implementations
o Programming for custom system interfaces and modification of preexisting interfaces
o Testing and support of system go-lives
o Custom report development for various database platforms
