Grant Thornton’s tax specialists complement our clients’ accounting teams while maintaining their auditors’ independence with our compliance services and customized tax planning advice. We have capabilities to advise our clients on various tax strategies including federal tax services, state and local tax services, international tax services, industry tax services, family wealth planning, and compensation and benefit plan design as well as consulting on other complex tax matters.
Tax – International Expatriate Service Associate- International Accounting Firm
Position Summary:
The Tax International Expatriate Services Associate is responsible for the delivery of a full range of expatriate services for multiple clients within our International Accounting Firm. Responsibilities include interacting closely with clients to provide innovative expatriate tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; providing review of individual income tax returns; and working closely with partners, managers, and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepare or review US individual income tax returns for inbound and outbound international assignees and international assignment cost projection calculations, as required.
* Participate in arrival and departure tax meetings for expatriates and inpatriates.
* Research and consult on various tax matters.
* Prepare client correspondence on various individual tax issues.
* Work closely with partners, managers, and staff to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development, as appropriate.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or business related field. * One to two years of progressive tax consulting experience, preferably including international expatriate taxation. * Candidate should be familiar with the individual income tax issues and tax law including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance, and the tax equalization process. * Ability to work with multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment. * Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Experience with a Big 4 firm preferred.
