Grant Thornton's federal audit group is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join our rapidly growing practice. The Senior Manager will direct and manage financial statement and financial-related audits and assessments of an audited entity's financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles, assessing financial information, adhering to financial compliance requirements and internal controls.
Responsibilities will include:
• Directing audit teams comprising of a number of auditors in carrying out multiple audits.
• Developing proposals and recommendations for consideration by the Director and Partner on specific subject matter areas that should be covered in audits.
• Directing the development of detailed comprehensive audit plans for the engagement.
• Providing continuous leadership for the conduct of the assigned audits and make decisions in connection with specific problems and issues that may arise.
• Ensuring that audits, related system reviews, and internal control assessments are performed with technical proficiency, in a timely manner, and in accordance with applicable professional accounting and auditing standards.
• Recommending the expansion of conclusions of an audit based on judgments regarding existing findings.
• Reviewing and commenting on work papers.
• Directing the preparation of audit reports to ensure findings and recommendations are objective, factual and in conformation with overall report-writing policies and standards.
• Performing follow-up audits and special studies.
• Evaluating the performance of team members assigned to include recommending awards, promotions, or disciplinary actions, as appropriate.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
* Must have a Bachelor's degree; preferably in accounting along with 7+ years of financial audit experience
* Must currently have or be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance
* Must be an active CPA
* Must be a US Citizen
