The senior support developer is a member of Applications Development Team in the Solutions Delivery Division. The position is responsible for the coordination and development of a multitude of small project work, level three support and application maintenance.
This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with experience developing, implementing and supporting .Net based websites, SharePoint and other web solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop, enhance and support Grant Thornton’s application portfolio * Coordinate and govern work product from our external solution providers * Perform comprehensive unit testing of custom components prior to formal QA * Adhere to and ensure new development meets Grant Thornton’s coding standards * Coordinating, facilitating and directing external development team members * Produce and update system documentation for processes, components and solutions * Develop new and enhance websites using C#, .NET, SQL, and XML * Work closely with Application Operations and Service Desk supporting production systems * Respond proactively to training, technical support, and customer service needs * Participate in and occasionally lead special projects as assigned * Administer TFS, project creation, and troubleshooting
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
* Four or more years of experience in a medium to large size corporate environment developing, deploying and supporting web-based information systems
* Understanding of systems development methodology and change management best practices
* Previous experience with C# .NET system development.
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Experience developing and implementing applications using SQL Server databases
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to quickly learn new technologies
* Aptitude to become a subject matter expert in certain areas and provide guidance to others
* Technical project management skills including planning and requirements gathering
* Ability to work both independently or as a member of a collaborative application development team
* Team orientation, flexibility and ability to function effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced corporate environment
