We are currently seeking an HR Generalist to support the recruiting and retention programs in the New England Cluster. This position requires the ability to service, through regular daily travel, two offices (Glastonbury, CT and Westborough, MA) and attend meetings in Boston and Providence, as required

Responsibilities:

* Support the Area HR Manager with general HR programs including training, employment law compliance, compensation and benefits administration, recruiting, new hire orientation, employee relations, and performance management.
* Serve as a local contact for HR policy and procedure related inquiries.
* Assist the Area HR Manager in the implementation of national HR policies, procedures, and practices.
* Own and deliver the Clusterwide First Year On-Boarding program to assist in the acclimation of new employees and enhance the Grant Thornton Experience for our new hires. Analyze feedback from our New Hire survey to determine the impact of the one-year on-boarding program on our survey results. Research recommended changes to improve program.
* Analyze Clusterwide exit interviews information to identify recurring themes and areas to address; prepare summary reports and recommended action steps for leaderships’ review.
* Participate in university recruiting initiatives.
* Ensure Clusterwide compliance with Firm standards and requirements – i.e., PCAOB compliance, Peer Review, employee file audits, licensure, etc.
* Deliver Clusterwide soft skills training programs such as delivering feedback, written communication skills, etc.
* Under supervision of the Area HR Manager, handle employee relations and conflict resolution issues.
* Assist local leadership in forecasting needs through the use of the Resource Planning Tool.
* Support the Area HR Manager in proactively identifying issues affecting our people and assist in recommending solutions to address these issues.
* Coach and counsel employees on professional career development goals and achievement strategy in order to develop future leaders.
* Assist in continuous process reengineering to ensure maximum efficiency.
* Serve as Northeast project team member, as required.

Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field; Masters in Organizational Development desired.
* 5 – 7 years of experience as an HR Professional with a preference for significant experience in employee relations and soft-skills training.
* Experience in mergers/acquisitions preferred.
* Experience working within a Partnership (law, accounting, consulting firm) preferred.
* Solid PC skills with proficiency in MS Office including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Lawson.

Additional Information:
Ability to work additional hours is necessary. Travel between Glastonbury and Westborough expected to reflect a 50% commitment to each location.
