The Senior Data Analyst provides technical guidance and leadership on all data solutions related to relational databases and data integration technologies. Also has the full knowledge of applications systems developments life cycle which includes database design and modeling, database architecture, metadata etc. for Data Warehouse/Reporting and transitional applications.
This position requires the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with other team members to implement the solutions.
This position is a member of the Data Management team which is a part of the Solutions Delivery division in the Information Technology department and reports to the Manager of Data Management, Data Integration and Business Intelligence.
Job Responsibilities
· Serves as the technical resource in the strategic oversight and planning of data models and database structural design and development
· Develop an end-to-end vision to translate a logical design into one or many physical databases and flow of data through the successive stages involved.
· Plan, design and document logical and physical enterprise relational data model using ERWIN
· Lead or Facilitate design meetings and review sessions with Application Development, Architecture Data Integration/BI and Power Users
· Assist in implementation of the physical data model on SQL Server databases
· Work with the end users and business analyst to gather data requirements
· Analyze various data sources and develop source to target mapping documents including data business transformation rules.
· Perform data quality analysis and profiling of data sources
· Support the QA team and/or End Users during QA Testing and User Acceptance Testing
· Work on the daily production support tasks and the ongoing maintenance activities to support the Enterprise Data Warehouse and transactional systems
· Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data
· Work with Architecture teams to develop Strategies for data migration, storage, validation, clean-up, archive, recovery, security
· Research and document database capacity and growth planning
· Develop processes and queries to ensure quality of data
· Proven individual contributor and team player with excellent communication skills

Qualifications
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
· 7-10 or more years of overall IT experience in software development with demonstrated evidence of increasing growth and responsibility.
· 5-7 years of significant data analysis experience with 2-4 years of experience using ERWIN modeling tool to build complex data models
· 2+ years of data profiling experience (Informatica Data Explorer experience preferred)
· 3-5 yrs. of strong SQL Server 2005/2008 experience desired
· Extensive knowledge of advanced concepts, practices and procedures used in a database environment
· Ability to communicate strategies around data modeling and architecture to cross functional teams
· Ability to understand requirements and create complex relational data models
· Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure
· Ability to construct complex SQL queries
· Excellent business writing and communication skills
· Ability to create data flow and process flow diagrams
· Proficiency with best practices in data modeling and data analysis
· Knowledge of BI methodologies, Data Marts, Data Warehousing, OLAP tools and techniques would be a plus
· Previous experience in the Professional Services or Accounting industry a plus.
· Previous client service or consultative experience in technology a plus
· Thorough understanding of systems implementation methodology best practices.

· Good business knowledge and confident decision making skills.
· Must be able to deliver in an environment of competing priorities and changing project scope.
