Grant Thornton’s tax specialists complement our clients’ accounting teams while maintaining their auditors’ independence with our compliance services and customized tax planning advice. We have capabilities to advise our clients on various tax strategies including federal tax services, state and local tax services, international tax services, industry tax services, family wealth planning, and compensation and benefit plan design as well as consulting on other complex tax matters.

TAX INTERN
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Tax Intern is responsible for preparing tax returns including the preparation of supporting work papers for various entities such as corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts, non-profits, employee benefit plans, etc. The intern will also research and consult on various tax projects, respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities, utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns, and carry out other projects as assigned.
Procedures vary with the nature of the engagement. Procedures may range from computer input to taking a tax project from start to finish which includes preparation of current and deferred tax provisions, associated calculations, and research to support these figures. Specifically, the intern is expected to inform the senior staff promptly of problems or tax issues encountered, provide explanations, and research tax issues. The intern will work closely with staff, senior associates, managers, senior managers, and partners on all phases of the project.
