The Portfolio Manager shall manage portfolio of the clients task orders; ensure client engagement compliance with Grant Thornton policies and contract requirements; and maintain high quality of client service and proactively comply with Grant Thornton’s risk management procedures and policies.

General responsibilities will include managing multiple task orders including personnel resources and assignments, overseeing work schedules, P&L responsibilities for each task order within their portfolio, providing assistance to other portfolio managers, and assisting the Program Manager in the following actions: managing BPA cost, staffing, schedule, deliverables and quality assurance. Portfolio managers will establish themselves as a trusted expert by satisfying individual needs for a diversity of stakeholders whilst providing insightful challenges to business processes. This position requires experience and familiarity with the clients operations, security equipment deployments, and all aspects of internal and subcontracted logistics operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Develop client relationship and liaising with clients at the highest level
•Work as part of the clients BPA leadership team
•Proactively engage in the planning of individual task orders, project activities, and client deliverables
•Produce monthly and ad hoc reports for BPA Program Manager and clients
•Ensure compliance with the firm’s risk management procedures
•Analyze problems, identify core issues, investigate, evaluate and integrate information
•Provide leadership and direction to designated task order managers and teams. Providing feedback on performance of task order requirement.
•Supervising and coaching junior members of staff to help them realize their full potential Mentoring and guiding junior employees
•Keeping managers and partners up to date with the progress of your team
•Acting as a first choice point of contact throughout the year for your clients and managing project costs, raising fees and agreeing dates for collection
•Drafting key documents and presenting to clients
•Keeping up to date with Grant Thornton solutions, methodologies and service offerings and identifying the sales opportunities that will help us grow our audit / tax / advisory work
•Build the reputation of Grant Thornton through quality of work, knowledge and experience
•Working closely with project and bid teams to develop, prepare and present proposals
•Be responsible for task order administration, training, overall evaluation and counselling of subordinates
•Working with the internal PMO team to develop proposals for delivery to the client on new work efforts.

Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management.
Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work.
Manage business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Act as performance manager (coach) for up to four coachees outside of engagement responsibilities.
Interview campus and/or experienced candidates.


Required Qualifications:
9+ years project management experience of teams 20-30 FTE or more
•Hands on experience leading your own portfolio from a varied client base
•Strong leadership skills to successfully lead and develop teams and junior staff
•An ability to nurture and grow relationships at a senior level
•Excellent organizational skills
•Excellent oral/written communication
•Experience working for executive level federal clients GS15 or higher
•Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:
•Preferred candidates will have 10+ years of program management experience, preferably in Federal government Program/Project Management of similar projects.
•Strong knowledge of Security Operations
•Ability to read and interpret federal acquisition policy, regulations, and directives and to apply those interpretations fully and legally to required deliverables
•Current Public Trust security clearance and DHS Suitability
•Experience managing fast-paced technology projects
•PMP preferred

Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Coach and mentor junior staff members.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
