ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Maintains currency on legacy and emerging technologies, processes and practices that need to be assimilated, integrated and introduced within the technology practice.
Supports the mission and vision of Grant Thornton to make business more personal and build trust into every result and align with this role’s mission by providing technology leadership in infrastructure and cloud.
Leads client IT project teams focused primarily on IT modernization and Cloud Transformation in the assessment of external market and internal infrastructure and architecture capabilities required to achieve desired outcomes and competitive positioning
Leads architecture and technology design projects using appropriate methodologies to develop production ready solutions.
Maintain expert knowledge of current features, planned future capabilities, and limitations of leading commercial platforms (AWS, MS Azure, etc.)
Evaluate customer requirements and design compliant, cost-effective architectural solutions that meet customer application, security, technology, and business requirements and seek to reduce the overall cost of sustaining the clients' systems and applications
Provide solution and service engineering activities, i.e. proof-of concepts, pilots, use case development, solution validation, workshops, and enablement
Provide expert technical architectural support and guidance for solution opportunities that involve cloud virtualization, software defined networking, cloud infrastructure, management and security, including integration with select 3rd party products
Define hybrid multi-cloud architectures for cross-functional, multi-platform systems using zero-trust network access
Document system architecture and define application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools
Decompose complex application architectures and identify performance bottlenecks and risks
Proactively identify and implement strategies to improve reliability, leveraging automation wherever possible
Engage and manage relationships with client IT and business leaders while building bridges across these internal teams to install trust and advocacy
Explain technology concepts and transformation states to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Coach and mentor junior staff members.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
