Transaction Services – Corporate Value Consulting – Experienced Associate

TS includes Diligence, Corporate Value Consulting, Strategic Solutions and Tax.

Within Transaction Services, Grant Thornton provides financial advisory services to privately-held and publicly-traded companies. Core service offerings include business, equity, and asset valuations for a variety of purposes such as financial and tax reporting, corporate planning, and in a merger and acquisition setting for both domestic and cross border transactions.

Grant Thornton is looking for a Valuation Associate to join TS and take an active role within the valuation process. At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional and cutting edge valuation approaches and methods to a variety of corporate finance analyses. As part of our team, you will utilize discounted cash flow models, trading and acquisition multiples, and option-pricing models to value tangible and intangible assets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in the valuation of businesses, intangible and tangible assets, and financial instruments for tax, financial reporting, and corporate planning purposes.

Work closely with team members on the valuation analyses, including financial modeling, report writing, industry research, and related investigative and administrative activities.

Proactively interact with client management to gather information, resolve problems, develop relationships, enhance customer satisfaction and perform services.

Other duties as assigned.



Required Skills and Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience in public accounting or consulting, ideally with some valuation experience.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.

Pursuit of certification/license encouraged, valuation credentials such as CFA, ABV, ASA preferred.

Experience in broad-based business and financial valuations, multi-discipline appraisals, and fairness opinions a plus.

Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.

Strong leadership, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written (including technical writing), and presentation skills.

Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites.
