At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.

Assist the Director, Financial Management Division (as chair of the Accounting standards Working Group in identifying or assessing alternative methods of - accounting implemented throughout the IC. For example, evaluate proposals to deviate from accounting standards, and recommend accounting approaches for further consideration by. the OMB~ AICPA, FASAB, and other authoritative bodies.
Provide advice on specific financial management improvement and accounting issues through "white papers" and briefings.
Document new processes, policies, procedures and estimating methodologies needed to implement new accounting models that are US Standard General Ledger (USSGL) compliant and improve the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of the financial statements and reporting.

The accounting models include, but are not limited to, the following three areas: (i) accounting model for intra-governmental and reimbursable activity, (ii) accounting models for reconciling Funds Balance with Treasury, and (iii) accounting models for property, plant, and equipment.

Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.


TS/SCI and CI Polygraph required
Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM)

Minimum ofFIVE (5) years of experience working with federal financial statement auditing, internal controls compliance, and/or federal financial statement preparation and analysis.
Minimum of FIVE (5) years of experience with the Federal Government with at least ONE ( 1) year of experience with one or more of the Intelligence Community members. IC experience need not be concurrent but must equate to at least one year.
Minimum of THREE (3) years of audit experience in accordance with Yellow Book Standards. Experience need not be concurrent but must equate to THREE (3) years.

Cost Management and Accounting Process experience
Master's or Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field required from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
