At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Develops data repositories
Identifies and automates data feeds into EA repositories
Implements best practices in data management, enterprise metadata and taxonomy approaches, role and policy based access, enterprise data warehouse and analytics decisions, critical information protection, deduplication, standard reference data, updated enterprise information and data standards, and identification of authoritative and trusted data sources.
A successful candidate will work with the project team to become familiar with the subject matter, project goals, and client expectations
Works with solution design teams, subject-matter experts, and clients to understand requirements and goals and to council teams on EA-related best practices
Lead the design of reports, briefings, dashboard, and data entry screens based on purpose, audience and consultation with project leadership and technical input from team members
Develops solution information/data views and data asset catalogs
Analyzes existing systems and their data, compares existing data with the target data architecture & identifies data matches, needed transformations, and data gaps
Analyzes new requirements and identifies data sources needed to meet those requirements
Analyzes software data requirements to determine feasibility of design
Creating data dictionaries and creating/enforcing data standards
Support/facilitate workshops and interviews to gather information and requirements
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related IT field
6+ years’ experience at the enterprise, segment, and solution architect levels
Consulting ‘soft skills’ (solid oral and written communication skills)
Conceptual and physical data modeling
Database experience in Oracle and SQL Server
Experience with ODBC/JDBC and/or APIs
Scripting (e.g. Python), ETL, SQL, data profiling and data analysis
Data warehousing, database design, data architecture
System Administration, Advanced Analytics Processes, Business Analysis, Business Architecture Design, Data Analysis, Data Cleansing, Data Modeling, Data Mart Strategy / Implementation, Database Modeling and Design, Overall Years of Relevant Professional Business Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
