Transaction Services – Data Analytics Senior Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analytics Senior Associate is responsible for utilizing a blended approach of data analytics tools and business knowledge to develop new approaches to insights and interpretation of large data sets. The Senior Associate will support the financial due diligence reporting platform. The Data Analytics Senior Associate will develop data driven dashboard templates to present key performance metrics and drive towards faster, deeper insights. This role will develop new approaches to interpreting large data sets and providing key insights to our clients.

Responsibilities include identifying and developing new products and/or enhancements to existing products within the reporting platform suite. The Data Analytics Senior Associate works closely with Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, and Directors and plays a key role in client management, practice development, and business development for an assigned group of strategic initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Consolidate and synthesize data from disparate sources into actionable visualizations, focused on insights.

Develop interactive dashboards using complex visualization strategies and appropriate underlying data structure to clearly articulate the insights reflected.
Utilize advanced business intelligence techniques to efficiently model data, ensuring optimal report performance.
Identify and investigate report errors, including root cause analysis and resolution.
Participate in performance tuning of reports.
May participate in the planning and execution of monthly training workshops.
Manage client expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines and lead change efforts effectively.
Work closely with Grant Thornton teams to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues.
Develop and maintain strong internal and client relationships in order to provide maximum value to our clients through the delivery of our full solution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field.

Advanced knowledge of Tableau Desktop. Certification is a plus.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Proficient knowledge of data modeling.
Proficient knowledge of Maestro or Alteryx data cleansing software is a plus.
Relevant work experience servicing clients at a national level.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice.
Exhibit a sense of urgency in attaining internally established targets and timelines
Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring skills.
Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work additional hours and/or travel as needed. (~ 30%)
