Private Client Services Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Grant Thornton’s responsive, partner-led Tax service teams help dynamic companies navigate complexity and grow with insightful, practical tax advice. In addition to tax professionals in more than 50 offices around the United States, our Washington National Tax Office provides deep technical knowledge and responsive support in local, state, federal and international tax. Our tax services include: compliance, human capital services, federal tax services, international tax services, state and local tax services, private wealth services, tax reporting and advisory, partnership taxation, not-for-profit tax, and mergers & acquisition tax services.

Responsibilities

Advise clients and be accountable for delivering high quality tax service and advice and play a key role in growing GT’s Private Client Services tax practice, both locally and on a national level
Manage tax compliance and consulting services for multi-generational family and private-equity backed businesses through to owner-managed and fast-growing start-ups. Provide analyses of financial, gift, estate, and income tax issues for ultra-high net-worth individuals and families
Serve as the trusted advisor to ultra-high net worth families on strategic, operational, and financial matters and staying current and ahead of cutting-edge tax-related developments, legislative and regulatory changes affecting high net individuals and family offices
Build, manage, direct, and monitor multiple client engagements teams while maintaining active communication with clients in an effort to manage expectations and help ensure client satisfaction
Lead, participate in and contribute to market and business development activities external to the firm; including identifying and pursuing new potential client service opportunities by collaborating with GT’s Audit and Advisory practices
Contribute to the growth, experience, and institutional knowledge of the Private Client Services tax practice team members
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA or JD/active law license required.
Four to seven plus year’s relevant experience.
Progressive federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting experience.
Experience in Pass Thru entity and Corporate income tax compliance Experience in individual and trust taxation compliance
Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance.
Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites.
