National Professional Standards Group - Accounting Principals Managing Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

Grant Thornton understands how important audited financial statements are to businesses, shareholders/owners, lenders, investors and other stakeholders. We work with some of the country’s most successful private and public companies to first understand their businesses and the risks they face, and then focus our efforts where they matter most. We work with clients to improve their overall financial reporting processes and to help them better understand their businesses. We also consider it our job to continually inform our clients about accounting, financial and regulatory developments that may affect their businesses.

The Accounting Principles Managing Director works within the National Professional Standards Group and will assist the Partner in Charge of Accounting Principles. This role will primarily be involved in leading consultations with the practice offices regarding complex accounting and financial reporting issues, developing content for firm publications on current accounting topics, and preparing for and instructing training presentations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Partner in Charge of Accounting Principles.
Consult with Practice offices on complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues.
Write firm publications on current accounting topics.
Develop and conduct training presentations.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and a licensed CPA.
13+ years of public accounting experience.
Specialized knowledge in financial instruments, leasing, variable interest entities, or share-based payments.
Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
Proven experience at a senior managerial level.

Additional Information:
