At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.

Conduct data modeling and database design (dimensional and third normal), life-cycle development methodology and user training.
Conduct UNIX programming and shell scripting.
Conduct performance, sizing and optimization analysis using Microsoft and other performance tools.
Determine file organization and indexing methods for user applications.
Implement business rules using Microsoft SQL procedures, functions and triggers.
Respond to changing priorities, multiple tasks and demands within short timeframes.
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.


Five years of experience in data warehousing or business intelligence (BI).
Current experience in Microsoft SQL 2014 and higher relational database system and Server Database Administration.
Expert with SQL (DML and DDL) and Transact SQL
Experience with clustered servers under MS Cluster Services
Five years of experience using Microsoft SQL utilities for ETL processing.
Experience in SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI Cloud
Must have Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Data Platform and Business Intelligence is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
