At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.

Analyzes business objectives and develops solutions to solve business issues. Develops logical data models, analyzes and defines processes of business both “To Be” and “As Is.”
Identifies, analyzes, and documents business requirements and delivers work products throughout the project life cycle.
Analyzes the entire business, including data, goals, process, and organization and assists in developing strategic goals.
Uses process improvement, reengineering methodologies, and internet-related methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization projects. Responsible for transitioning of existing organizations or project teams in accomplishing the organization's goals or project activities and objectives through improved use of internet and other automated processes.
Supports activity and data modeling, development of modern business methods, identification of best practices, and creating and assessing performance measurements.
Provides group facilitation, interviewing, training and additional forms of knowledge transfer.
Key coordinator between customers and multiple project teams to ensure enterprise-wide integration of reengineering efforts and application of best practice including e-business practices experience.
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.


Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on relevant experience in providing budget support to state, local or federal government.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Accounting, Business, Finance, etc.).
Excellent mathematical skills as well as knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods with attention to detail.
Experience in performing budget execution functions, including oversight of obligations against planned budgeted amounts for a fiscal year.
Experience analyzing and interpreting OMB Circular A-11 and performing associate budget formulation duties.
Experience reviewing submitted budgets for adherence to required format, policies and instructions.
Experience performing a variety of budget functions in the formulation, execution, and review within the operating budget for areas including information technology, project management, program management, security, enterprise architecture, operations and maintenance, and overall administration.
Experience ensuring obligations and expenditures occur in a timely basis in accordance with the annual budget plans and regulatory controls and are within the amount budgeted.
Proficient in MS Office with excellent electronic spreadsheet skills.
PMP preferred, not required.
Experience with Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
