Job Description:

Grant Thornton LLP seeks a Federal Tax Senior Associate- Tax Reporting and Advisory in Denver, CO to provide tax compliance and consulting services on multiple client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects as well as managing budget. The Federal Tax Senior Associate- Tax Reporting and Advisory is responsible for the delivery of a full range of tax services in the areas of ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes, including: preparation using Onesource software, auditing ASC740 accounting for income taxes according to GAAP/PCAOB standards, tax function optimization, tax technology and implementation as well as IFRS conversion for multiple clients domestic & international (Public and private). S/he monitors associates and interns on an indirect, project-basis. S/he supervises the preparation of tax returns to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting, regulatory, and procedural standards. S/he advises clients on return preparation regarding tax solutions, risk mitigation, and tax savings opportunities. Such tax returns are for complex income tax clients (consolidated returns, multi-state, international, etc.). S/he analyzes financial information, researches tax matters and provides consultation. S/he utilizes current tax related software computer technology to document the client’s accounting systems and to prepare and process returns. S/he represents clients before taxing authorities and responds to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities. This position entails travel up to 80% of the time.


Minimum Requirements:

The position of Federal Tax Senior Associate- Tax Reporting and Advisory requires a Bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field plus 2 years of professional experience in the job offered or a related tax compliance or tax consulting position. Additionally, the applicant must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: 1. Preparing and reviewing partnerships, corporations, and management companies’ work-papers, tax returns (federal and state), quarterly estimates and extensions; 2. Preparing income tax provision and financial statements; 3. Training new hires in U.S. tax fundamentals, including partnerships, corporation tax returns, and income tax provisions; and, 4. Preparing and processing tax returns according to U.S. tax law and researching tax matters and regulations utilizing tax-related software.
