Senior Associate Controls Advisory Process III

Miami, FL

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 4 years related experience. Prior experience must include the following: perform audits in accordance with engagement budget including planning, documentation of findings, and delivery of client reports (2 yrs); determine existence of business process controls (2 yrs); train and mentor assigned audit associates and interns on audit and review process engagements (2.5 yrs); work with assigned team members and client personnel to plan engagement strategy, define objectives and assess risks and issues to conduct an audit (3 yrs).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform internal audits in accordance with engagement budget including planning, documentation of findings, and delivery of client reports; perform business process control reviews; monitor, train and mentor assigned audit associates and interns on audit and review process engagements; work with assigned team members and client personnel to plan engagement strategy, define objectives and assess technology-related controls risks and issues; evaluate and test business processes and business controls and identify areas of risk; work with management consulting teams to recommend controls; prepare Service Auditor Reports (SAR) in compliance with AICPA guidelines; participate in internal auditing outsourcing and co-sourcing arrangements for clients; work with Business Risk Services team to identify and resolve client issues discovered during audit and review process; assist partners and senior management on proposals and business development calls; oversee engagement independence, contracting, metrics, economics, and communication of the engagement status with management and the Grant Thornton leadership team. Travel required 80% of time.
