Grant Thornton is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Financial Management service line and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.

At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide support for accounting processes using General Fund Enterprise Business Systems (GFEBS).
Provide recommendations for resource management systems improvements using current system(s) of record such as but not limited to GFEBS, STANFINS and Defense Travel System (DTS).
Provide unique data queries from financial systems to support financial reporting needs and resolve data discrepancies.
Research questions using a variety of manuals or resources and Functional Representatives to resolve issues.
Produce daily status of funds using GFEBS Business Intelligence (BI).
Provide Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) support in GFEBS.
Work directly with the Civilian and Military Accountants to provide accounting support; researching and analyzing reimbursable, payables, SPS, AXOL, Travel, WAWF, UMT, ULOs and NULOs to clear prior year accounts for the various Fund Center Accounts.
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.

Qualifications

Secret Clearance is required.
Minimum of 3 years of working experience maintaining, using or training GFEBS, STANFINS, WAWF as well as proficient at researching source documents to determine payment verification or resolutions.
Proficient in excel, access, pivot table, v-look up, hyperlinking in excel, power point,
Data analytics such as tableau to make reports or briefs quickly and accurately available.
Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
