Grant Thornton is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Risk Advisory service line and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.

At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Ensure that technical or financial solutions and schedules are recommended in a timely manner and that engagement staffing and planning issues are resolved.
Conduct preliminary quality assurance over engagement deliverables and activities.
Provide technical knowledge in their area of expertise, work individually and on teams to support the completion of engagement specific tasks within estimated time and budget constraints.
Application of expertise to the practical issues they identify or those presented by the client.
Supervise the overall execution of multiple engagements.
Work with partners to determine overall audit strategy and project management, including staffing and the engagement budget.
Communicate on a daily basis with client management and process owners.
Research accounting and regulatory issues that arise during an audit engagement to determine client compliance with GAAP and other regulatory statutes.
Manage proposal and business development efforts.
Develop whitepapers and thought leadership documentation
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.

Qualifications

BS or higher in Accounting or related field.
Four to seven years of experience with managing and internal control program.
Certified Internal Auditor.
Application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Professional knowledge of Financial Statements Preparation, Financial Analysis, General Ledger Accounts, and Financial Reconciliations.
TS/SCI CI Poly clearance required.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
