National Professional Standards Group (NPSG): Independence

Position Summary

Assist in the monitoring of the independence self-reporting tools, including advising partners and professionals on personal compliance disclosure requirements, and addressing tasks on multiple independence functions. This position will report to an Independence Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Respond to day-to-day inquiries from partners and professionals regarding the firm’s independence compliance policies, including independence self-reporting tools (e.g. the Global Independence System (GIS) and the Independence Certification (INC)).

· Monitor multiple group e-mail boxes.

· Monitor reports for GIS and INC tools and prepare reports for Independence Group Partner/Managing Director and senior leadership.

· Assist with the development and presentation training material pertinent to personal independence compliance.

· Assist with monitoring independence training completion.

· Assist with development of firm’s policies and guidance (e.g., practice aids, frequently asked questions) regarding independence compliance matters.

· Assist in preparing updates to firm’s monitored relationship lists and responding to questions from engagement teams related to the relationship lists.

· Support firm relationship monitoring and relationship checking process.
Work on special projects, as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Communications

· Strong analytical, technical, communication (written and verbal), project planning, and presentation skills.

· Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, process technical material, and meet tight deadlines.

· Flexibility to work additional hours, as needed, and travel on a limited basis.
