FORENSIC ADVISORY SERVICES (FAS) MANAGER

Position Summary:

Grant Thornton's FAS practice assists clients prevent, investigate, and remediate matters that can adversely impact their financial success and reputation. We offer a broad range of services, including internal investigations, forensic accounting, litigation support and expert witness testimony, computer forensics, assistance with regulatory inquiries, and establishment of anti-fraud/corruption compliance programs, among others.

The FAS Manager will oversee all phases of engagement management for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and completing projects and services while developing and managing staff. S/he will work closely with more senior professionals such as partners, principals and managing directors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality;
Manage, direct, and monitor client service teams on multiple engagements;
Develop and execute engagement work plans with input from more senior engagement team members.
Ensure quality work product and attention to detail;
Manage the assembly, maintenance, and finalization of working papers in support of engagement objectives;
Monitor and manage engagement profitability;
Develop a project vision and set challenging personal and client service team goals.
Interact with client finance and legal professionals in unstructured situations under which FAS teams provide guidance and propose solutions to complex financial matters in the context of investigations, litigation support, preventative or remediation consulting;
Develop financial models in support of engagement objectives;
Draft reports summarizing engagement procedures and results;
Provide developmental feedback to team members.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
One to three years’ experience at a Manager level in a professional services firm.
Five to seven years of progressive experience in public accounting or consulting. Experience with a forensic accounting practice at a Big Four or national boutique firm, preferred. One or more professional certification/license, such as CPA, CFE, CFF, CIA, CFA, ASA, ABV, CVA.
Litigation Support/Consulting: Experience should include a demonstrated ability to assist litigators on developing, evaluating, and settling case strategies and preparation of attorney work product to support case strategies.
Investigations: Experience should include a demonstrated ability to assist attorneys or corporations with developing applicable investigation techniques based on allegations, modify and enhance those plans and techniques as the engagement progresses and effectively summarize findings through written reports and schedules.
