Forensic Advisory Services – Senior Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Business Risk Services protects value. The Business Risk Services (BRS) practice includes Risk Advisory Services, Forensic Advisory Services and Data Analytics.

The Forensic Advisory Services (FAS) Senior Manager is responsible for all phases of project and engagement management for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and completing projects and services in litigation support and developing and managing staff. The FAS Senior Manager works closely with partners and staff on client management, practice development, and business development. The FAS Senior Manager is responsible for an assigned group of clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Consult on large and complex business disputes and provide valuable financial insight and clarity to counsel during all stages of a business dispute, from case theory development and discovery to expert witness testimony.
Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
Manage, direct, and monitor client service teams on multiple litigation engagements and manage to budget.
Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and become a trusted business partner.
Serve as consultant to attorneys, assist in preparing questions for discovery and deposition of potential witnesses, serve as an expert witness, assist in reviewing and refuting the testimony and analysis of other expert witnesses, and design court exhibits.
Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
Play a key role in future business generation by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities.
Actively participate in recruiting top talent to the firm.
Attend professional development and networking events. Train seminars on a regular basis.
Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
Run client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, organizing, conducting, directing, and completing FAS projects and services and managing projects to budget.
Oversee and perform data and document intensive financial analysis and conduct research and investigative data analysis.
Work closely with engagement teams and manage and conduct forensic accounting procedures on multiple engagements concurrently.
Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management
Manage business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership material
Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization)
Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform services
Work closely with Grant Thornton managers and partners to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues
Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence
Manage, develop, train, coach and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews
Motivate others to perform at maximum efficiency without sacrificing quality of the services delivered
Interview campus and/or experienced candidates.
Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
10+ years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level.
CPA, CFE, CMA, CFA, or CIA required.
Forensic, investigation and/or litigation support experience
Accounting and finance knowledge; proficiency in US GAAP and GAAS preferred.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work on multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
Ability to work additional hours and travel to various client sites, both domestic and international, as needed.
