Grant Thornton is seeking a Director to join its IT Advisory service line and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Will analyze, design, build, test and deploy innovative public sector transportation industry-specific solutions that enable safe, efficient, and cost-conscious transportation.
A Director at this position level within Grant Thornton has the following responsibilities:
Provides solutions to complex business problems for public sector transportation departments / agencies / authorities where analysis requires an in-depth knowledge transportation operations, technologies and roles.
Involved in establishing strategic direction to establish near term goals for the public sector transportation practice.
Interacts with senior management levels at a client and/or within Grant Thornton, which involves negotiating or influencing on significant matters.
Has expertise in decision-making and determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
Manages large teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Grant Thornton.
Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management.
Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work.
Manage business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Act as performance manager (coach) for up to four coachees outside of engagement responsibilities.
Interview campus and/or experienced candidates.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of working experience in a complex public sector transportation department, agency, or authority, as a Program Manager/ Director.
Minimum 5 years of experience utilizing PMO/Program Management tools (e.g.- ability to create an integrated program plan utilizing Program Mgmt Office Tools, etc.)
Minimum 5 years of Client and/or relationship management experience.
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree.
Large consulting firm experience. (Preferred)
Public sector transportation experience. (Preferred)
Program Delivery and Operations (Planning, Design, Construction, Maintenance, Traffic Engineering, Right of Way / Utilities, Environmental / Sustainability, Bridges and Structures, Materials, etc) (Preferred)
Transportation Policy (Highways and Streets, Aviation, Rail, Bus / Transit, Maritime) (Preferred)
Administration experience (HR, IT, Procurement, Internal / External Audit). (Preferred)
Ability to travel up to 100%
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Coach and mentor junior staff members.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
