Overall role purpose
The role of IT Procurement Manager exists to further the goals and objectives of Grant Thornton International Ltd. (GTIL) to support member firm growth through technology savings and standards.
The role will be responsible for procuring complex IT products and services on behalf of member firms (and GTIL). The procurement processes managed will include from original requirement/business problem to contract negotiation, procurement itself, as well as the day-to-day administration of contracts for IT services, licenses, hardware, software and other IT related purchases. Additional duties include participating in developing, reviewing and editing Statements of Work and master services agreements; negotiating contract terms and conditions; vendor relationships development and management, and, pricing management which benefits Grant Thornton firms.

Main responsibilities

Establishes and maintains vendor relationships and partnerships
Performing contract administration for both current and potential purchase orders and contracts for IT products and services
Facilitating the evaluation and award of small and large dollar, simplified and complex purchases for IT products and services
In-depth knowledge of various contract vehicles and selection factors in order to plan appropriate strategies for procuring complex IT services and products
Negotiating contract terms with vendors and ensures contract terms, and pricing, are acceptable to departments
Assisting with the management of supplier performance
Communicating with internal stakeholders and external contacts to ensure proper performance of products and services procured
Teaming with and mentoring procurement specialists and buyers
Ability to interpret procurement regulations and practically apply them to assigned work
Ability to clearly articulate requirements and procurement processes
Reporting on savings realized, and trends in overall usage of established global programs
Earns respect and develops productive relationships with IT colleagues, key business stakeholders, and key vendors / service providers
Builds effective relationships with GTIL business units
Provides communications to management on IT strategy, issues and budgets
Effective communicator both written and in person, adjusting for culture and audience
Performs other job related duties as assigned


Required Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 5 years' experience in IT Procurement, preferably in a financial, business to business or professional services environment
self-starter with the ability and confidence to develop and implement their own projects and workload
Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication, project management, organizational and interpersonal skills and a good team player
good organisation and time management skills and an ability to manage multiple projects
previous experience of working within a global professional services environment and with international stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree, Advanced / MBA Preferred
