POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an individual with 1-4 years of working experience to join our Indirect Tax Automation practice which specializes in implementing and building solutions for our Clients across a wide range of industries. The individual will play a key role in the requirements gathering, design, build, and testing of the implementation of third party software products as well as our own custom solutions. This position will offer the opportunity to work with a number of third party tax engines including Vertex, Thomson Reuters, Sovos, and Avalara products. In addition, the individual will work with the major ERP systems including SAP and Oracle. This position offers an enormous opportunity for growth both personally and within our organization. The individual will play a key role in the success of our practice and will work collaboratively with team members, firm leadership, and our diverse Client base.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These individuals will play an active role in our software implementations by gathering requirements from the Client and helping formulate the overall solution design. While they do not require a deep technical background, experience in Management Information Systems and software implementations is preferred. It is likely that this resource will work on large Global ERP/Tax Engine implementations so some experience in Sales and Use taxes and VAT would also be preferred. In addition, as a Senior Associate, ideally, this individual would have experience in implementing Vertex, OneSource Determination, Avalara, or Sovos. This individual will need to have strong writing skills as they will be primarily responsible for developing a variety of documentation including requirements documents, design documents, and training materials. They will be responsible for configuration of tax software, process design (including scenario design and flow mapping, testing, defining support procedures and supporting implementations and supervising and mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Information Systems or related fields.

3+ years’ experience in corporate, state & local taxes, indirect, value-added, or transaction tax compliance

Direct experience working on Indirect Tax Engine implementations (Vertex, OneSource Determination, Sovos, Avalara)

Experience with the software implementation life cycle

Experience in ERP system implementation and preferably completed at least one full lifecycle of the implementation.

A general understanding of Indirect Taxes and the compliance process

Experience and comfort in working with various software solutions

Strong writing and communication skills including presentation skills using MS Visio and MS PowerPoint

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals

Experience working directly with clients

Ability to travel for projects
