Audit Methodology Manager

Position Summary:

The Audit Methodology Manager within the National Professional Standards Group will develop Grant Thornton’s audit methodologies and maintains the firm’s audit tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create documents and help develop a consistent audit methodology that is compliant with professional standards, encompassing all phases of the audit (planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow up ).
Develop and maintain proprietary audit tools.
Monitor the auditing standards setting activities of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board ( PCAOB ), the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board.
Develop and present technical content for staff training programs.
Monitor the firm’s methodology and tools to ensure that they are in compliance with the professional standards, and easy for audit engagement teams to use and understand.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a CPA.
Four to six years of progressive audit experience in public accounting or equivalent with experience in a medium- to large-sized public accounting firm.
Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
Strong leadership, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills, and presentation skills.
Strong computer skills with an understanding of the impact of technology.
